★ After I finished school in 1990 I had to go in the army where I trained to work in a field hospital. I started working with ITS (Immuno Technology Services) in 1992 where I was responsible for the Packaging and Materials department. I completed several Management and Computer studies that time. ITS became Nichols Institute Diagnostics where I worked as a materials manager. I decided to take a job at US Bioscience in Nijmegen where I was hired to build a European Distribution Center. I worked at clean room level.

In 1996 I received an offer from Amgen Europe B.V. in Breda. I moved from Wijchen to Breda (Dorst) and decided to take the offer and started at Amgen. At Amgen I build a European Package Development department from scratch, I traveled to the several European countries but especially to the headquarters of Amgen Inc in CA USA to study al the necessary software, hardware and infrastructure and to learn all about the Package Development Department. I took the knowledge with me to the Netherlands and build the department. During that time I did several different (Software, DTP, WebDesign and QA and GMP) courses and seminars all over the world.

In 1998 I started Ber|Art Visual Design (www.ber-art.nl) and made designs and developed websites. Soon my customers wanted Hosting as well so I became a hosting reseller next to the design work. I hired a designer so I could learn more about hosting, DNS etc. etc. At this moment we host and manage our own cabinets with collocated, (PCI compliant) dedicated and application servers. We host ± 2500 domain names and we deliver and develop specialized application hosting like Magento, Wordpress and Typo3. I am chairmen of ISP Belang (ispbelang.nl) and I am a member of the IPv6 Taskforce. In 2009 I founded European Cloud Computing, Cloud Hosting and Hybride Hosting.

★ Overstap naar IPv6

Door een alsmaar grootschaliger gebruik van het internet raken de huidige adresreeksen op het internet (IPv4) binnen een paar jaar op. Om ervoor te zorgen dat dit niet tot problemen leidt is er een nieuw adressysteem, genaamd IPv6, bedacht. Het is belangrijk dat Nederlandse bedrijven, internet service providers, overheden, onderwijsinstellingen en ook particulieren gaan beseffen dat de overstap naar dit nieuwe adressysteem noodzakelijk is en dat zij tijdig maatregelen kunnen en moeten nemen om de overstap naar IPv6 mogelijk te maken (en de kosten onder controle te houden). Goede implementaties van IPv6 kunnen volgens de IPv6 Task Force een voorbeeld functie hebben.

Om het belang van de overstap te benadrukken is in opdracht van het ministerie van Economische Zaken, de Nederlandse Task Force IPv6 opgericht. Op de SIDN relatiedag van 18 juni 2009 stond de heroprichting van de Adviesraad op het programma. Tijdens de relatiedag heeft SIDN het voorstel gedaan om een initiatiefgroep van registrars op te richten.

De insteek was dat deze groep, namens alle registrars en op een wijze die door hen werd gesteund, een nieuwe Adviesraad formuleert. Al tijdens de relatiedag vonden de eerste gesprekken tussen registrars plaats en in de maanden daarna kreeg de initiatiefgroep definitief vorm.

In december 2008 hebben de initiatiefnemers van de Petitie SIDN, welke vooral gericht was op het ondernemen van actie tegen de staffelkortingsregeling van de Stichting Internet Domeinregistratie Nederland, besloten dat er ruimte was voor een nieuwe brancheverenging. Hoewel er al enkele verenigingen bestaan voor de ISP sector, beslaat iedere vereniging of stichting een klein stukje van de branche.

Het doel van Stichting ISP Belang is het vertegenwoordigen van de ISP branche daar waar inspraak of actie gewenst of vereist is. Dit kan bijvoorbeeld door het adviseren van of het in overleg treden met instanties en overheid over beleid wat de ISP branche raakt.

Stichting ISP Belang heeft als rechtsvorm voor een stichting gekozen, waarbij organisaties die vertegenwoordigd willen worden zich kunnen aansluiten als deelnemers. Het is de bedoeling dat, zodra er een onderwerp is waarbij een groot gedeelte van onze deelnemers onze inmenging wenst, wij hierop kunnen inspelen.

Uiteraard wil de stichting zo veel mogelijk deelnemers, sympathisanten en geïnteresseerden vertegenwoordigen. Immers, hoe groter de vertegenwoordigde groep, hoe groter de kans is dat er daadwerkelijk iets gedaan kan en zal worden met onze input.
